This is 5% luck, 1% skill

40% concentrated power of will, 40% pleasure, 4% pain and OVER NINE THOUSAND PERCENT REASON TO REMEMBER THE NAME.

That's right folks, after a rather amazing debut blog post by K473z 7h3 M4gnific3n7 (it certainly beat my first one), I'm back to talk about what, exactly?

I dunno, though I find myself in the same position as K473z, that is, surrounded by darkness and about to fall asleep on this Tuesday night after some hard work in History and then some raidzzz with my guild. Eagle and Lynx boss down! Not that that means anything at all to any of you, but I'll include a screenshot purely for the lolz in one of the most intense moments of the night.

You can click on that for a bigger version, if you dare.

Yeah, I'm sorry for depressing all of you, but when William Shatner and Mr. T start making advertisements for World of Warcraft, you realize that WoW is just pure win, no matter what all you Zelda nerds may say.

So, I think I've had a pretty good day, tomorrow won't be so good cuz of another History thing (Corner wants us to memorize shiz, ugh), but I'm looking forward to Friday and being out of school for that day. Yeauhhh history trip planned 3 months in advance!

On that note, I'll go sleep now so I can wake up bright and early tomorrow and memorize shiz. Gawd, I suck at memorizing.

Yours in memorization,

Welcome to the World

The camera pans over a dark room lit only by the faint glow of a computer screen. There is a girl sitting in on a pile of pillows with her face resting on the keyboard of her laptop, fast asleep.
**Voice over begins in the low mellow tones of Kate Soper**
First impressions are something that people dread all over the world. We stay awake at night fearing the first day at a new school, or pace in the waiting room before an important interview. No matter what it is, big or small, it is hard to be comfortable when you know everything from the shirt you are wearing to the tone of your voice is being analyzed by the person in front of you. The great thing about the internet is that you don’t have to worry if your pants and jacket clash.

With a start Kate is awake and rubbing her eyes, blinking at the screen in front of her, then at the clock across the room on her dresser.

Kate: Crap…*yawn* why the fuck am I not in bed?!

Clicks her mouse, scrolls down the screen and types the final words into her first post on Gabby’s blog. With a flourish the entry is posted.

Good day avid, and not so avid, readers. It is nice to see you, metaphorically, up and about here in cyber space. I am a friend of Gabby’s who he has generously allowed to contribute to his wondrous blog spot. Silly Gabby thought that by allowing me to write for him the vastness of my social circle will read my posts and his blog will gain popularity. Unfortunately Gabby forgot to note that I have no friends who care enough to go out of their way and read my rambling and for that his plan is doomed. His other incentive for inviting me was that I supposedly have an exciting life full of fun times and adventures. I am in IB, it would seem that all IB students are prone to compulsive studying, homework completion and EE research, so even though I am not a typical IB student and do go out more than I probably wise, my choices of fun events are limited by my largely IB based friend group.
Sorry Gabby, guess you will have to make due with my directionless ramblings!

I think that will suffice as an introduction into what Kate Soper the Magnificent is all about.

For lack of a better signing off tagline:
Later days.

Thursday 15 November 2007

And so here we are,

Born to be kings,
We're the princes of the universe.

Another standard day indeed. I now know that My lowest mark cannot be below seventy, which isn't too bad. 95 in French brings things up in the end, anyway.

There are, in facts, a few highlights to my day:

Met plenty of people at lunchtime and talked about everything.
Rofled, along with half of the class, in SAP over some cheesy 80s educational movie. I'd explain this one part which brought tears to our eyes and we had to rewind because it was so effing hilarious, but you wouldn't get it, you'd have to be in my SAP class to understand. At one point we thought this one girl was having some sort of problem, since she was laughing for 12 minutes straight. I myself lasted eight minutes before I decided to stop, which I managed by simply bringing up the image of Mr. Reiss in my mind. Worked like a charm.

Went home, messed around a little bit 'till six o' clock at which point I prepared to undertake my journey on bike, in the cold and the rain, to Leaside High School for the Badminton club. Played some good matches to warm up, as I was rather rusty, having missed a lot of days because of all the school work. And amidst the matches, who should appear in the gym but my lovely friend Ana, who, purely by coincidence, happened to be at the school for some event of some sort and happened to see me! I do wish she would have stuck around, though, for after a quick yell "Hello" she vanished out of sight, never to be seen again. I looked around a bit for her, but then decided to go home, exhausted.

Some might consider my day as dull, others as somewhat adventurous, but it was a nice day overall. And yes, I write about my days in this blog for nothing else seems to be noteworthy.

OH. The Epic Lightsaber battle tomorrow! GO GO. They're giving out free lightsabers, and then it's 2$ if there are too many people. Contact me if you feel the urge to fight for your side (THATS RIGHT, YOU CAN BE A DARK OR LIGHT JEDI, YEAUHHH).

It'll be really fun and nerdy, I promise!

I won't go alone though, so taaalk to me if you read this on time. Which you probably won't.

Oh well, goodbye, farewell (insert the rest of the Sound of Music line here).

Yours in smileys =),

Monday 12 November 2007

Hola

That means hi, and since I've forgotten everything from Grade Ten Spanish (Ms. [redacted] was quite the teacher), that's about all I can say for the moment.

But hey, I got into the Level two Spanish class, even though we're already halfway through November! Even better is that Mr. Matchett, as he likes to say, is "soaking my feet" (wtf?) with a quiz on stuff I have no idea how to do this Wednesday, w00t. Something about the future and the present progressive etc. He was nice enough to give me a ten-minute Spanish lesson after school today, though.

Tomorrow shall be the last time I have to talk to Mr. Reiss, as I have to get his permission to drop Bio class (you have no idea how happy that makes me). Although I think he will be happy to get rid of me, I wasn't exactly his best student. Come to think of it, I was his worst. The only thing I was good at was giving random facts when he asked a question, and I was the only one with an answer, usually the right one somehow. (reach for the top anyone?).

I'm rather disappointed, but happy that I didn't eat lunch today, I was expecting a succulent meal and yet none presented itself, though, in the end, much embarrassment was saved. Maybe I'll be normal and fix myself a lunch tomorrow. If you care, I had a crummy cookie for lunch.

And, well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Sorry ladies, this'll be a short, boring one.

Think Pink

And blog my log of the day.

Another standard day, I was really happy today, for a variety of different reasons, which I shall outline for you:

  • Reiss wasn't as bad today.
  • Today was my final day with the Reiss.
  • I'm not failing Bio anymore (hooray).
  • Found some additional programs for what I'm going to do next year with the help of guidance.
  • I'm switching to Spanish class - In due time I shall be perfectly trilingual muahaha.
  • Free Cupcakes (thanks J00les!).
  • I proved to Eric I wasn't a complete failure at Mario.
  • Opie once again made my day by yelling at Kanita when she wasn't wearing her uniform, and I quote: "I want to see some Uniform Motion in the next ten seconds!". Opie is a fisicks teacher, also. I thought it was hilarious, and certainly not cheesy.
  • Tomorrow is an assembly day (although we spend the .same amount of time in school as normal, I have an hour to doze off without anyone catching me).
  • Tomorrow is Friday.
  • Fonzie is so cool.
I am however, anxious for the following reasons:
  • 4 real, the history essay test is tomorrow
  • I let my guard down and these people randomly took a picture or two of me. I will have to Fotoshop. Although I'm glad I'm a celebrity.
  • Some EZ Psycho/Socio/Anthro test tomorrow.
  • Possibility of another photographic ambush
  • My Jetman scores aren't as high as I'd like them to be.
So, I just shortened today's entry considerably with point form. W00t.

Enjoy the rest of your pathetic day,

Tuesday 6 November 2007

Okay, so it's been a while (well, for you blog addicts, I'm sure, for you casuals, not so sure), but, you know, sometimes I'm too lazy to write during weekends (I usually write blogs when I have pressing work to do, like studying for tomorrow's in class History essay). It was a dashing weekend, I suppose. Saturday was dull. Sunday was quite nice!

You see, from six to eight o'clock on sunday night, a bunch of people met up at Echo sushi for a gargantuan Sushi buffet - that's right, all you can eat sushi. Although some people might go there for the sushi, WE went to celebrate Sophia's birthday! And a merry birthday it was, with the birthday girl sitting at a seperate table behind a wall so that in the end, I really didn't talk to her much and neither did the people sitting at my table. Oh well. The complex world of intricate seating arrangements is for another blog.

But oh man, I could write an entire blog about the exquisite foods we ate. The Firecracker (twice as spicy as the spicy tuna sushi), the Crab n' Mango (mmm), the Green Dragon (epic). But I won't write an entire blog about it, I know you expect more of me.

So it was an exciting evening. I must thank Kate for feeding me the sushi (I was stuck in a corner, and couldn't reach the middle of the table). And I had to trust her with what we ordered, since she is somewhat of a sushi guru and I decided to go with whatever she was ordering. Not a bad idea after all.

All in all, it was an evening filled with laffs, tears of joy (almost) and non-photogenic people (mostly me and Mindell, har har) who willingly posed for the camera anyway.

Now, that was sunday. Monday and Tuesday will be much easier explained: I got some sort of sickness (something like the Flu (fever, stomach ache (NOT RELATED TO SUSHI), disorientation (some girl called me yesterday, and I was so confused) were some of the symptoms) (yes, I write brackets within brackets within brackets). Okay, I lost track of where my sentence was going after the third bracket. But anyway, I got sick, so I stayed home and slept on the couch while watching TV (standing up made my head twirl somewhat). I ended up watching Crossroads on Monday. That's right, with Britney Spears. *Shudder*. My gawd I almost wanted to kill myself for bearing 2 hours of that crap. It was as horrible as you might think it would be.

Today I decided to not repeat Monday's mistakes and tried to stray away from the TV, but I ended up watching Jeopardy!, which was fun. Really. I love Jeopardy!. They have this big tournament thing going on, so it's twice as exciting.

So, yeah. That was me and my extended weekend. I'm too tired to double check my blog entry now. Oh well.

American Wanksta

Yes, not American Gangster, but American Wanksta, because I didn't see American Gangster today. We were supposed to, but a certain someone did not "plan accordingly"! Yes, we got there, got in the lineup at the Yorkdale theatre, you know, like any normal person would do, to buy our tickets, but alas, as we arrived at the desk "O HAY GUYS WE'VE SOLD OUT AMERICAN GANGSTER LOL, TY COME AGAIN".

So, then the Lady who did not plan accordingly herself showed up (late, as usual) and we stood there for about a quarter of an hour wondering what to do with our now disoriented friday night. I once again suggested we go around town putting fake yellow parking tickets on peoples cars just for kicks because well, honestly, that would have been a more productive night then what really happened...

Three of the six people decided we should go to another theatre to see if they were sold out too, but the other three, which included me, decided otherwise and the group split up without shedding a tear. The remainder of the night consisted of the three of us nerdifying ourselves at EB Games and the Apple store. No, we did not take those "ghey" apple-store pictures that you see on Facebook with premade photoshopped settings (oh the agony, I cringe when I see them).

It's a wonder we killed an hour or two just standing around in Yorkdale, really. But we did get free food at New York Fries stand in the food court, since one of my buddies was just finishing an eight-hour shift there. Woohoo.

So, all in all, another wasted day thanks to the Lady-who-does-not-plan-accordingly (okay, it wasn't really her fault, and happy birthday to her =D!) and I'm sure her Sushi-Bonanza on Sunday will be ever so slightly better planned.
