Learning to fly

"There's no sensation to compare with this Suspended animation, A state of bliss"

Well, yes, from A Momentary Lapse of Reason by Pink Floyd. An aptly chosen quote, because there IS in fact a sensation to compare with this. It's like getting punched softly in the stomach over and over and over again. A state of bliss? HA. Anything but. This state of lying on the couch watching stupid Drew Carey'd Price is Right episodes is NOT a state of bliss, let me tell you. And yeah, I just verbed a proper noun. Omigosh now I verbed a noun. But hey, my perfect grammar can be moved aside for now, there are more pressing matters.

So I'm sick and all. Nothing drastic, and though many of you consider me to be the little boy who cried wolf now (weeks and weeks of school missed, I blame psychological troubles), you'll be happy to know I have been having horribly dull and boring days. It's wake up, go sleep downstairs, tv, go sleep again. Over and over again. Even blogging isn't something comparable to the boredom that is this sickness.

But hey, someone managed to make my blogging exciting! That's right, I've gotten my FIRST hate mail! I am flattered. If you, an avid reader I'm sure, is the hate-mailer, you should enjoy your crappy sense of fame in this paragraph. But for next time: Try and make your insults more than a long string of various slang words taken off urbandictionary.com. It'll be way more exciting, I might even write more than a paragraph about your clever ability to insult my ten minutes worth of writing!

Well, that's all folks!

Reach for the... Whaa?

A most productive day indeed today. Pretty much a standard day in all of my classes, aced the Fifth Business quiz in English today even though I hadn't read the book this year, I remembered the exact sam quiz from last year, and the answers that I got wrong I got right this time! I did better than some people who HAD read the book this year, so that's pretty sweet.

But probably the highlight of my day was going to UTS for our first Reach for the Top match! Got some practice along the way with a little calendar trivia book thing. UTS is this really fancy private school, and maaan, they take education seriously. Going up the stairs, the walls were covered with Chemistry formulas. Come to think of it, the entire school was covered with random school stuff. And the kids running around the school seemed... different, as if they had a purpose to being in school rather than being in school just for the sake of being in school.

Anyway, the actual Reach for the top games were rather fun. Interestingly enough, we did better against UTS' A team. Maybe that was because they asked way more french questions, and I, being the designated french expert, naturally answered all of them correctly. Eric pulled some interesting random guesses, Dao had some pretty weird answers (who would have guessed The Monkeys for some random oldie song?!) and Shuyang naturally took the lead with regards to Grade Twelve chem and Bio.

Free refreshments too! The Quiz Master bid us to take as much food as we wanted and even more, as she seemed keen on getting rid of all of it. So, I filled my bag with clementines and granola bar, which, naturally, will make up my lunch for the rest of the week.

Ah yes, and the badminton season is starting again! Excellent, excellent! A reminder to all you n00bs out there that will be trying out to get that paperwork done, 'else you can't try out. Damn the TDSB and their phobia of getting sued. Gawd, I hope I can find a good doubles partner this year, and do well at the Toronto finals! That would be fun.

Where do we go now? Wisely, GnR asks this, and I don't know. I think it's an indication to stop my blog for today.

This is Kaleidoughscope, signing off

Jesus Christ, it's alive!

Okay, well, I can picture a few of you (just a few!) who, after December 6th, came back every day, hoping to get a new blog post, waiting anxiously to see these precious words appear on your screen. I'd imagine that after a couple of weeks, those dedicated readers stopped checking. So, for the moment, this blog post, I imagine, will be unknown to just about everyone. I plan to update it some more though! And to keep up, allll you have to do is "Subscribe" to my blog feed. So like, in the URL box, to the right, you should see a button, maybe it's orange with white lines in it, or something similar. Click on that, and you can subscribe to my blog! And it'll update in your browser every time I post something new. A nifty feature, I'm sure.

Okay, well, of course, lotsa stuff has happened in the past few months. I won't recount my life story for the past two months, so I guess you're out of luck if that's what you wanted.

Recently, I have been getting an awful lot of attention regarding the fact that I, Gabriel, APPARENTLY look like Jesus. Firstly, I can almost guarantee you, that JESUS DID NOT WEAR GLASSES. Secondly, how the hell do you know what Jesus looks like? Prove to me that I look like Jesus for realz, and I'll be more inclined to believe you.

I've decided to make a graph depicting my situation, and why I have been getting more and more attention as Jesus.

Behold, my graph plotting length of hair and how closely I resemble Jesus.

As you can see, a very interesting trend presents itself. According to this graph (from a credible source, of course), I am right now almost at the peak of my Jesus-ness, since my hair is somewhere in between my shoulder and upper arm.

Two choices present themselves: Either I revert back to somewhere earlier in the graph, or grow my hair to Herman Li length and enjoy the lack of Jesus comments (but surely gain other even worse comments).

I have decided to put up a poll as to what you people think I should do, to celebrate my return to blogging. (Note: there are absolutely no guarantees that I will do what the majority of what the poll indicates me to do. Just a guideline to see what you Jesus-lovers think).

And, I really should go study some spanish now, I'll see you all later with a blog post, coming soon! Remember to subscribe!

One does not simply leap into Mordor...

It's true, you can't really take a leap of faith into Mordor, though I'm sure you could argue that Frodo did and blah blah blah. I needed a title today, so I picked that. Nothing else to it.

So, I've accomplished something rather odd this week: Not a single day of school. Oh, you must think I'm crazy, a deviant of some sort? I'll admit I was lazy, and the reasons for not going to school are not good reasons you'd like to hear, so I won't tell them. So, if you haven't been blessed by my presence in the hallways, you now know why.

So, in the end, it doesn't work out too well anyway, I'm prolly behind on tons of stuff. But I did have a nice week, lotsa sleeping and reading honestly. And now I shall pay the price.

Oh, I'd also like to thank Kates for filling in my blog, I'm certainly not nearly as consistent with the writing as I used to be. But Kates certainly does provide the more... feminine side of the blog, what with her chick flick analysis and all, and I'm sure she talked about shoes somewhere. Not that my blog is really masculine or anything, it's more of a neutral tone I'd say. Which is nice.

Do have a good end of the weekend, I will leave now, with this very short blog entry.

Yours in empathy (lol),

Sugar High

Hello out there!

Sorry to anyone who cares that both Gabby and I are horrible at committing to write something down more than once (or twice if your lucky) a month! He's always complaining about lack of interest from the great masses that tend not to flock to his blog but really, who better to blame than himself? Well ourselves now :P. Tell me Gabby: how are we supposed to attract readers with no new material?
One of the main reasons that I have been MIA these past weeks is somewhat due to school but a lot can be said about the distraction of the book I am currently reading!! Now you must promise not to laugh.... I'm currently reading the books in the Twilight series. Yes I am aware that they are kind of trashy, no I am not going to pretend they are great works of literature that will be remembered for decades. Hell chick lit is a bit of a vice for me and I’m not afraid to admit it!! The story is quite captivating and honestly what girl can resist a good old fashioned passionate love story?! They even has a love triangle or two :P It’s also a plus when there are things like gorgeous vampires and dangerously alluring werewolves to entertain you ;). I'm also the biggest nerd on the planet because the other book I'm reading is the latest in the Halo novel series:P. I know how much cooler can one person get? If you know anything about Halo (the most awesome video game ...ever..) here's the basic idea of this book: Avery Johnson is a young marine in a special division who gets transferd to a easier job out in the far off human colony of Harvest, but soon the Humans and the Covenant are going to have their first contact. Obviously this part of the story comes before the first game and I am finding it quite enjoyable so far.
Since I have already embarrassed myself with my revelations on the book front mind as well divulge my other favourite procrastination past time....... I am addicted to One Tree Hill :$:P. I know it’s a soap opera but not only is everyone (give or take a few) on the show amazingly attractive, with awesome hair might I add, it also has so much drama that I can forget about how silly my life is for a while. I am currently on season 2 episode 16, and I have been trying to pace myself, you know fill in the gaps with History homework, trashy novels and the occasional food break:P.

As for my real life, you know the one in the real world, I have actually had a kind of eventful couple of days! Wednesday was the first swim meet of the year; I think I placed second in something or other... I really need to shave 3 seconds off my 50 free time before I will be satisfied though. After swim Julian's mom drove Andrew and I home, thanks Wendy you’re the best, she bought us doughnuts though... a dozen of them ….. for the 4 of us:S. I hate to admit that I had three, but the swimming makes up for it. Right?:D I also had Mickey D’s for dinner with my dad; I got a grilled chicken sandwich though, which counts for some you-aren't-going-to-fat-people's-hell points. Thursday was parent teachers and unfortunately my evil twin was in the day my teacher was looking for a secretary so I was stuck at school on my half day :( I spent my time chatting with Jordan, Dexter and Travis which was...nice... :P lol. Thursday night after my singing lesson/rehearsal (no laughing, I am in a church choir) I went with some friends to see August Rush. Which was incredible, in a feel good, everything is a huge coincidence but that’s okay, kind of way:D. Friday I hung out downtown with a “special client”, bought some pizza and CDs, generally had a good time. Then came home, did minimal homework until Devlin came over to help me beat Halo :D. My dog almost ate him though:S I never really got around to the whole puppy training thing, don’t get me wrong though, he’s a good dog, just a little... wild sometimes.
Anyways Devlin and I went back to his house for some gaming with Davie and Dusan, and this is probably the best part of my weekend. See I ate almost half a thing of mint chocolate chip swirl something or other ice cream, and then played Halo with two guys who are both much better than me. I have a sugar high and Devlin is trying to coach me from the sidelines, mainly by yelling “JUMP!!” over and over again. This obviously sends me into a fit of uncontrollable giggles when jumping actually keeps me alive for a good 3 minutes with Davie chasing after me with a rocket launcher, mongoose, gravity hammer and I think a Spartan laser, though I was laughing too hard to really tell. :P I babysat Saturday night, will discuss the merits and downfalls of babysitting at a later date, after spending and hour and a half bagging leaves with my daddy. Thank God too, cause with all that white stuff outside I think anyone who was putting the leaves issue off to a later date is shit outta luck!

God I can talk a lot!! It must be something like a new record! :P Hope everyone had as action packed a long weekend as I did, and until I grace you with my presence again,

Later Days!

HALEY: Urgh(!) Do you think there’s such a thing as a sugar hangover?
(Brooke shrugs and makes a slight noise before getting up.)
BROOKE: I think what you need is a little taste of the snake that bit ya(!)
(Kneels in front of Haley, smiling.)
HALEY: Ice-cream for breakfast?
BROOKE: It’s Butter-pecan.

P.S. That was EXACTALY how I felt after both the doughnuts and the ice cream **groan**

This is 5% luck, 1% skill

40% concentrated power of will, 40% pleasure, 4% pain and OVER NINE THOUSAND PERCENT REASON TO REMEMBER THE NAME.

That's right folks, after a rather amazing debut blog post by K473z 7h3 M4gnific3n7 (it certainly beat my first one), I'm back to talk about what, exactly?

I dunno, though I find myself in the same position as K473z, that is, surrounded by darkness and about to fall asleep on this Tuesday night after some hard work in History and then some raidzzz with my guild. Eagle and Lynx boss down! Not that that means anything at all to any of you, but I'll include a screenshot purely for the lolz in one of the most intense moments of the night.

You can click on that for a bigger version, if you dare.

Yeah, I'm sorry for depressing all of you, but when William Shatner and Mr. T start making advertisements for World of Warcraft, you realize that WoW is just pure win, no matter what all you Zelda nerds may say.

So, I think I've had a pretty good day, tomorrow won't be so good cuz of another History thing (Corner wants us to memorize shiz, ugh), but I'm looking forward to Friday and being out of school for that day. Yeauhhh history trip planned 3 months in advance!

On that note, I'll go sleep now so I can wake up bright and early tomorrow and memorize shiz. Gawd, I suck at memorizing.
